I am completely brain dead today, so I don’t have much to say. Enjoy the song, though! I Became a Prostitute – The Tw… My first listen of this song really impressed upon me how very Wonderland-esque the whole imagery is. Sure enough, doing the dishes a few weeks ago I heard it on in a commercial, and I have to admit… It is just PERFECT in Syfy’s “Alice” trailer. I like Karen O and I’ve always sort of [...] I’d like to show a little UK love today. I didn’t realize this was on Zombieland (which was pretty hilarious by the by) until about 5 minutes ago, but it’s my favorite from the Doves 2009 album, also titled Kingdom of Rust. I have a quiet fascination with all things steampunk, and just thinking of [...] I feel like I would be completely remiss not to mention the “New Moon” soundtrack at some point this week, and since I make the rules here, I’d say a holiday is the perfect reason. It’s probably going to be another controversy post somewhere down the road, but at face value it’s a really lovely [...] When this amazing 7″ vinyl single showed up from the lovely Krissi, I almost wet myself in excitement. I have always been very fond of the original version by Melanie, but this soft remix is absolutely amazing. I’ve had it on repeat for weeks. After all, some people say I’ve done alright for a girl. [...] I am so very bummed that I was too sick to see this show. Sorry, guys! “No You Don’t” is from the September 2009 release, Vapours. No You Don’t – Islands Check them out on myspace! Sometimes I really enjoy a little bit of experimental music. Yeasayer is usually quite accessible, making them one of the few that I get excited about hearing new stuff from. Here’s their newest release, “Ambling Alp”: Ambling Alp – Yeasayer And just for funsies, the Memory Tapes remix of “Ambling Alp”! You know it’s a [...] Today I’m bringing you a brand spankin new tune from Maserati’s September 2009 release of Passages. No More Sages – Maserati And live at SXSW! I’ll be honest, I jumped on this bandwagon pretty quickly. The big disappointment right now is that a month into their big debut tour, guitarist Baria Qureshi has quit the band, forcing them to cancel their European tour dates. (Via Stereogum via The Quietus) I’m interested to see how they recover from this setback. They’re [...] A lovely song from their brand new album (which already hit Paste’s Best of the Decade list, but I’ll address that garbage later) I And Love And You. I’m still sad I missed them when they were in town. I’ve been leaning a bit towards the softer folk-rock sounds this week, so I hope you [...] |
